Graham House offers a men’s behaviour change program across various location in the South Burnett. It is a 16 week program for men who have been abusive in their relationships.
What is a Men’s Behaviour Change Program?
– Work towards goals that promote safety and wellbeing
– Explore core beliefs that drive abusive thinking and behaviour
– Strategies to manage thinking, emotions and behaviours
– Form positive habits and help-seeking behaviour
– Understand the impact of trauma
– Uncover unique challenges and prepare for a lifetime of healthy family wellbeing
Throughout the group participants learn about the intent behind their use of violence and how their abusive behaviour works to create and maintain power and control over their partners and loved ones.
Who can access this service?
Men aged over 18 years – anyone can self-refer.
Men who use violence ARE capable of change, if they are committed to making that change.
Service users may self-refer into the perpetrator intervention program, may be court mandated as a condition of voluntary intervention order or other court order following a breach of a protection order or as a bail or parole condition.
